Return to CHANGING BELIEFS LESSON
How beliefs are created:
- Passed down through generations
- Through experience
- Repetitive thought patterns
Activity: The Click, Drag and Drop Method
1. Define the outcome you want to achieve.
2. Take a deep breath in to the count of five, and release to the count of five. (Repeat five times)
3. Imagine a very large computer screen in front of you.
4. Think of a belief that you no longer believe and create an icon with the image of this belief on the computer screen.
5. Remember the location of the image (icon) and the distinctions:
a. Is it in black in white or color?
b. Is it moving or still?
c. Is it clear or fuzzy?
d. Is there sound or not?
e. How close or far away is the image?
6. Analyze your emotional state associated with the image of the belief you no longer believe, by remembering a good memory and feel all the feelings associated with that memory or think of the last four digits of your phone number.
7. Think of a belief that you never question such as the sun will always rise and set or your belief in a higher power.
8. Remember the location of the image and the distinctions:
a. Is it in black in white or color?
b. Is it moving or still?
c. Is it clear or fuzzy?
d. Is there sound or not?
e. How close or far away is the image?
9. Think of a belief that you no longer want to believe and create an image (icon) for it and locate it on your computer screen.
10. Click on it with your mouse and drag it next to the image (icon) of the belief you no longer believe.
11, Match up all the distinctions (see step 5 a-e) of the image of the belief you no longer want to believe to the image you no longer believe.
12. Once the image (icon) distinctions are matched, then drag the image of the belief that you would like to get rid of and release it on top of the image of the belief you don’t believe and release it. Think of this icon (image) as your trash icon.
13. Think of a new belief to replace the belief you just got rid of and create an image of this new belief.
14. Click on this new image (icon) and drag it next to the image (icon) that represents the image of the belief 100% to be true. Make sure the new belief has all the distinctions (see step 8 a-e) of the belief, believe 100%.
15. Once the images are matched, go ahead and drag the new belief over the belief you never doubted and drop it on top, as if you are stacking the beliefs.
16. Test your work. Think of the old belief. Where do you look? If you did the process correctly then you should be looking into direction at the image (icon) which represents beliefs you no longer believe.
17. Think of the new belief, if you see the image is in the location where you hold your beliefs to be true then bravo you have done it….Job complete.
Now let’s see how this new belief will operate in the future for you. Think of your new belief and get all the feelings associated with this new belief and go out into the future to an event where you would have operated from the old belief system and see, hear and feel how you handle things differently. Enjoy the change. Keep practicing and utilizing the new belief in various situations. Remember your unconscious mind learns through repetition.
Rehearse or practice your success.
